Developing in the Dom City

On the site to be developed along the Merwede Canal was formerly the ROTO Smeets printing house. Revitalizing industrial sites as more mixed residential and work areas meets an important need of the city of Utrecht. The Merwede Canal Zone is considered the most significant place in the Dom City to achieve growth in this way.

The entire Merwede area development includes 4,000 to 6,000 residences, communal indoor spaces, public spaces, shops, schools, restaurants, healthcare centers, sports facilities, and culture and creative businesses.

In collaboration with Synchroon, AM is committed to an ambitious, high-density, healthy, and sustainable urban development, in close consultation with the municipality, other landowners, residents, and stakeholders.
