AM signs agreements with Rochdale, Achmea and Jumbo for The Green Gallery in Diemen

7 January 2026

Area developer AM has signed agreements with housing association Rochdale and investor Achmea Real Estate for the sale of 132 social and 90 mid-priced rental apartments and 1,654 m² of commercial space in The Green Gallery in Diemen. A lease agreement has been signed with supermarket chain Jumbo. The area development will be realised on the former business and educational site of Inholland in Holland Park Zuid.

Wide range of new homes for different target groups

A total of 444 flats will be built as part of the plan. Rochdale will purchase 132 social housing units, including six residential care units and a community room. These units will give young people the opportunity to live independently with professional support. Achmea Real Estate has purchased 90 mid-priced rental flats and 1,654 m² of commercial space, intended for a full-service supermarket and a number of convenience stores. Supermarket chain Jumbo has signed the lease agreement for the supermarket.

The agreements for the purchase of the rental properties and commercial space were concluded through a joint tender by Achmea Real Estate and Jumbo.

In addition to the rental properties, 222 private sector owner-occupied flats will be built. The plan includes a parking garage with a capacity of 190 parking spaces.

Lively neighbourhood

The Green Gallery will be a vibrant living environment with homes and various commercial and social facilities, including a supermarket, a GP practice, a nursery, shops and other amenities. The facilities will be clustered on the ground floor of the various buildings. Residents will be able to meet each other and activities will be organised in a community room. A green public garden will surround The Green Gallery, and attractive and safe walking and cycling routes will be constructed to encourage physical activity. There will also be a focus on shared mobility.

Alderman Hans Prins: "Diemen is a popular place to live, and we are delighted with the arrival of sustainable new-build homes in The Green Gallery. It offers a good mix of social housing, mid-range rentals and owner-occupied homes. Holland Park is a place where everything comes together: living, shopping, recreation and socialising. For young and old, regardless of your budget. With a supermarket, a community centre and pleasant green public spaces, it creates places where people naturally meet and everyone feels at home. A wonderful addition to this neighbourhood.”

Ronald Huikeshoven, managing director of AM: "The redevelopment of the former Inholland location in Diemen fits in with AM's broader vision of creating attractive and liveable neighbourhoods where affordable housing, social amenities and green spaces come together. The Green Gallery focuses on sustainability, quality and innovation and will be an inclusive and climate-positive neighbourhood where everyone can feel at home."
