Agreements for nearly 2,500 homes in Lisserbroek

9 September 2025

The municipality of Haarlemmermeer and various developers, including AM, have jointly agreed on plans to build nearly 2,500 new homes and facilities such as shops, childcare, healthcare and expansion of primary education in Lisserbroek. According to the schedule, construction will start at the end of 2027 and the first homes will be completed a year later.

The new Lisserbroek-Noord neighbourhood will have 1,153 homes, and the Turfspoor neighbourhood in Lisserbroek Binnen will have 1,325 homes. Of these homes, 30 per cent will be designated for social housing, 20 per cent for affordable owner-occupied or rental homes, and 50 per cent for private sector owner-occupied homes. Six per cent of the homes are also intended for people who need care.

New roads

To ensure that the new homes are easily accessible, new roads are being constructed by both the developers and the local council. The local council is working together with the Province of North Holland and the Amsterdam Transport Region to achieve this. In addition, a subsidy application has been submitted to central government to cover the remaining financial shortfall for the new roads for these homes.

Environmental plan

These agreements represent an important step forward for the new construction project in Lisserbroek. The next step is to amend the environmental plan. This means that rules for the construction of homes, facilities and green spaces in the area will be drawn up, after which the developers can apply for building permits. The plan is for the amendment to the environmental plan to be finalised by the end of 2026.

Nice home

Councillor Beryl van Straten (Housing) is enthusiastic about signing the agreements. "This plan gives thousands of people the opportunity to find a nice home in Lisserbroek. We will continue to work on preserving the village character of Lisserbroek and its sense of community. Facilities will also be provided, making Lisserbroek less dependent on the facilities on the other side of the Ringvaart canal. And I am pleased that, with the help of the region and the national government, it remains financially feasible. We will work hard to make this plan a success."
